Regulators are taking a more active role in the regulation of Fintech entities and activities. Fintechs are now becoming so ingrained into the financial landscape and with larger or more specialised orgnisations assuming sytemic importance, understanding both the regulations and regulator's objectives is a necessary pre-condition to success for Fintechs operating in the UK.
As outlined in our note on UK regulation there are a number of ways to work with the regulator, via the Regulatory Sandbox for instance or with entities such as us who understand the requirements based on previous assignents.
We have assisted banks by leading on implementating PSD2 regulations within the acquiring function and advising on its impact on the wider group's acquiring business.
Additionally, we have advised Fintech start-ups on a wide range of data protection and privacy matters including data protection breaches and complaints, and subject access requests together with intellectual property advice.
